HELLO, I’M SHAUNTEL
I am a portrait & lifestyle photographer and an independent filmmaker from Jamaica, currently based in Portugal. I pursued a BSc in Anthropology at the University of the West Indies, Jamaica. Then made the big move to Southern Europe, to pursue an MA in Film. I aim to bring an anthropological sensibility to my creative work by drawing from human experiences and identity. Aesthetically, my work is a meeting ground for all my inspirations: the colours of nature and the outdoors: as most of my work is captured outside. Additionally, the Bible ( a huge part of my Christian faith), despondent emotions and the look and feel of cinema.
MY APPROACH
Your story is more than just a shoot. It should be a reflection of who you are, and the presence you bring into a space. My work is about capturing that essence. Not just through poses, but through mood, emotion, and meaning. Whether it’s an editorial shoot or a brand film, I focus on the subtle details that turn emotions into memorable imagery.
